Police Online Crime Reporting

DO NOT USE THIS SYSTEM IF YOU HAVE ALREADY REPORTED THE INCIDENT TO A POLICE OFFICER OR TELESERVE.

Thank you for using our ONLINE offense and incident reporting system. You may file an official St. Joseph Police Department Offense/Incident Report with this system. Before you begin, please read the following:

Your incident MUST HAVE OCCURRED WITHIN THE CITY OF ST. JOSEPH. If you are unsure if the incident is within the City limits, click here. to view a City map for reference.

IF YOU ARE REPORTING AN EMERGENCY, OR THE CRIME YOU WANT TO REPORT IS HAPPENING NOW, DO NOT USE THIS FORM TO REPORT IT; INSTEAD DIAL 9-1-1 OR 816-271-4777 ON YOUR TELEPHONE. THIS ONLINE SYSTEM IS NOT MONITORED CONTINUOUSLY.

Due to investigative procedures, you may use this online system to report ONLY the following types of crimes:

  1. Theft / Shoplifting – Someone stole something from you
  2. Trespassing – Entering or Remaining on property you own
  3. Unlawful Use of Credit/Debit Card - Someone used your credit card without permission
  4. Identity Theft – Someone used your private identity for financial gain
  5. Vandalism/Property Damage – Someone intentionally damaged your property (not a vehicle crash)
  6. Harassment/Threats by Phone etc. Someone, without good cause, causes you emotional distress.
  7. Vehicle Crash Report – Unintentional situation involving at least one motor vehicle in transport where property was damaged.

Identity Theft victims can access a printable version of the ID Theft Affidavit with instructions and an informational packet listed as Fighting Back Against Identity Theft.

  • NOTE: To process your report, we will require an E-mail address to verify authenticity and to send you a Case Number for further processing. If the E-mail address you are using is different than the E-mail address on the report, we will send confirmation and follow-up information to the E-mail address listed on the report.

    Your incident must have occurred within the City of St. Joseph. If you are unsure if the incident is within the City limits, click here to view a City map for reference.

    Our online reporting system does not have the ability to screen your reports to make sure they fit into one of the above criteria. If your report does not fit the above listed criteria, it will be rejected when it is reviewed by police personnel and you will be notified by e-mail. This will cause a significant delay in the reporting of the crime.
